Easy Yoga Asana to get Six-Pack Abs

Are you aiming for six-pack abs? Well, don’t think that you can achieve those overnight! You need to work out regularly to attain a certain fitness level and then you can train your sights on specific areas of your body, such as the mid-section. Practicing yoga asana will certainly help you tone your abs and will surely give your body great flexibility. But one size doesn’t fit all – so, consult a yoga trainer first and see if certain yoga poses can indeed help you to achieve six packs and whether your body is ready to cope with advanced levels of yoga.

Again, an excellent asana for toning your abdominal region. Lie on your back on the mat, bend your knees and keep your feet on the ground. Inhale and take your pelvis a little off the ground and place your palms beneath your hips. In fact, rest your hips on your hands. Press your elbows against the mat. Inhale, lift the upper portion of your body and move away from the mat. Breathe normally. Exhale and place your head back on to the mat.

Halasana is excellent for keeping your abdominal muscles toned. But first you need to check with your yoga trainer whether your body has the required flexibility to do this asana. Otherwise you can injure yourself. Lie on your back on the yoga mat, place your arms on the sides, palms facing downwards. Inhale and then slowly lift both your legs off the ground and take them above your head to make your toes touch the ground on the other side. You can use your hands to give your waist the initial push. Breathe slowly, hold the pose for as long as you can and then bring both legs back to their initial position. While holding the pose, you can keep your hands stretched on the sides.

This is great for reducing flab in the mid-section. Sit on the yoga mat, with your legs stretched in front of you. Keep your hands slightly beneath your hips. Tilt backwards, but keep your spine straight, not hunched. Exhale and lift your legs off the ground at a 45 degree angle. Keep your knees straight and lift your toes to the eye level – make sure you are in a ‘V’ pose. Keep your hands parallel to the ground. Breathe normally and hold the pose for as long as you can. Exhale as you return slowly to the normal position.
